Materials Needed
* Scheepjes Catona Cotton 4 ply yarn1 x 10g Ball of Forest Green #412
1 x 10g Balls of Poppy Rose #390
1 x 10g Ball of Jet Black # 110
* 3mm Crochet Hook (US D/3)
* Tapestry Needle
* 3 x Stitch Markers
* Safety Pin

MAIN PATTERN
Poppy Centre
using Jet Black #110 yarn
Magic circle start, Sc9
Rnd 1 - Sc in all sts, (9). Fasten off.
Place a SM between stitches 3 & 4 and 6 & 7 and after the 9th stitch.
Poppy Petals
Working in the next 3 sts only (up to the next SM)
Attach Poppy Rose #390 yarn
Row 2 - Ch1, BLO Sc in same st as ch1, BLO Sc in nxt 2 sts, (3), Ch1, turn.
Row 3 - (Inc in nxt st) 3 times, (6), Ch1, turn.
Row 4 - Sc in nxt st, (Inc in nxt st) 4 times, Sc in nxt st, (10), Ch1, turn.
Row 5 - Dec2tog, Sc in nxt 6 sts, Dec2tog, (8), Ch1, turn.
Row 6 - Dec2tog, Sc in nxt 4 sts, Dec2tog, (6).
Fasten off
Repeat Rows 2 - 6 inclusive, for the other two petals.
Secure the end. When securing the yarn tails closest to the
centre of the poppy, carefully join the petals together on
Rows 2 and 3 as desired.
Leaf
Using Forest Green #412 yarn
Magic Circle Start, Sc4
Rnd 1 - (Inc in nxt st, Sc in nxt st) 2 times, (6)
Rnd 2 - (Inc in nxt st, Sc in nxt 2 sts) 2 times, (8)
Rnd 3 - (Inc in nxt st, Sc in nxt 3 sts) 2 times, (10)
Rnd 4 - (Inc in nxt st, Sc in nxt 4 sts) 2 times, (12)
Rnd 5 - (Inc in nxt st, Sc in nxt 5 sts) 2 times, (14)
Rnd 6 - (Inc in nxt st, Sc in nxt 6 sts) 2 times, (16)
Rnd 7 - (Dec2tog, Sc in nxt 4 sts, Dec2tog) 2 times, (12)
Rnd 8 - (Dec2tog, Sc in nxt 2 sts, Dec2tog) 2 times, (8)
Rnd 9 - (Dec2tog) 4 times, (4)
Rnd 10 - (Dec2tog) 2 times, (2)
Fasten off, position the leaf and using the yarn tail sew onto the back of the poppy’s centre.
Traditionally, the remembrance poppy is worn on the left lapel, close to your heart with the leaf pointing to 11 o'clock.
Pop a Safety pin into the centre of the back.
