Free Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern - Gingham Check in One Piece

PEACH UNICORN DESIGNS

Uses Knit Stitch Only

Perfect pattern to learn and practise intarsia knitting.

Super EASY to knit and such a beautiful result.

The Gingham baby blanket knitting pattern is perfect for your first Intarsia project. I designed this blanket using just the knit stitch, so you can concentrate on learning to do Intarsia knitting and create this beautiful finished baby blanket as the result. You can knit this beautiful Gingham Baby Blanket in one-piece, so no need to sew up panels!

This pattern has been around for centuries and it always reminds me of Dorothy in the movie "Wizard of Oz", which I watched as a child and more recently my little girl's school dresses. Such a cute and smart look!

❤️   Enjoy!   ❤️

Gingham free baby Blanket knitting pattern

Designed with "Bernat Softee DK Baby Yarn" in mind, as they have a range of MARL colours.  Previously, to achieve "Marled knitting" you needed to take two different strands of coloured yarn and knit them together, but with this range of baby yarn (so no nasty chemicals) the Marl is already mixed perfectly for you and the yarn is the same thickness as the other balls, making it the ideal yarn for this gorgeous classic patterned blanket.

Need it bigger?

This pattern can be adapted to change the size of the blanket, you can make a Lap Blanket, a Gingham Throw or a Bedspread, just follow the instructions in the "pattern notes" section below.
