Materials Needed for single colour version

● 4mm Knitting Needles (UK8) (US6) (a least 35cm in length) 
● 4mm Cable Needle
● Yarn Needle
● Bernat Softee Baby DK Yarn
 4 x 140g Balls of White #02000  (1350 Yards )

Cfr16 - Explained

Put next 8 sts onto cable needle, move to the front of your work p2, k2, p2, k2, from main needle, then p2, k2, p2, k2 from the cable needle.

 

Pattern Notes

● Intermediate Level pattern -  suitable for a knitter with previous cable experience
● Tension Gauge - 22 sts x 30 rows = 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) in stocking stitch.
● Finished Blanket Size - 30 inches x 30 Inches (76 cm x 76 cm)

● Blanket width can be increased / decreased in multiples of 48 sts.
● Blanket length can be increased by repeating the pattern.

 

Main Pattern - One Colour Version 

Cast on 298 sts

Rows 1, 3 & 5 - *p1, k1 - repeat from * to the end of the row. (RS)

Row 2 & 4 - *k1, p1 - repeat from * to the end of the row.

Row 6 - k1, (p1, k1) 2 times, *p2, k2 - repeat from * to last 5 sts, p1, (k1, p1) 2 times.

Row 7 - p1, (k1, p1) 2 times, *p2, k2 - repeat from * to last 5 sts, k1, (p1, k1) 2 times.

Row 8 - Repeat row 6.

Row 9 - p1, (k1, p1) 2 times, *(p2, k2) 4 times, cfr16 - repeat from * to last 5 sts, k1, (p1, k1) 2 times.

Rows 10 to 21 - Repeat rows 6 & 7 in order 6 times.

Row 22 - Repeat row 6.

Row 23 - p1, (k1, p1) 2 times, *cfr16, (p2, k2) 4 times - repeat from * to last 5 sts, k1, (p1, k1) 2 times.

Rows 24 to 33 - Repeat rows 6 & 7 in order 5 times,

* Rows 6 to 33 are the pattern. Repeat the pattern 6 more times.
* Complete rows 6 to 12.
* Finish with rows 1 to 5 to complete the border.
* Cast off in border pattern (Seed stitch / British Moss Stitch)

Intarsia (Multi-Coloured) Cast on - Step by step instructions

 Step 1 of Intarsia Cast on

1 - Cast on as normal with the first colour and complete the number of stitches needed, let both tail and yarn strand hang down.

 

Step 2 of Intarsia Cast On

 2 - Tie on the next colour and let both tail and yarn strand hang down.

Step 3 of Intarsia Cast On

3 - Take the yarn tail of the first colour and wrap it around the 2 strands of the second colour.

Step 4 of Intarsia Cast On

4 - Hold it in place while you continue to cast on with the second colour.

5 -  Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each colour change
